Basic Obedience, Behavioral Issues, and Lifestyle Planning

It couldn't be called the Good Shepherd Farm without a good shepherd right? While Rio is no longer with us, he certainly was a well-mannered boy. Our dog training can cover a wide variety of behaviors that include basic obedience along with any bad habits that your dog has acquired. We focus on lifestyle planning for human and dog to ensure that the dog has everything it needs physically and mentally to help it become the best version of itself.

We come to you! All sessions are in your home where the dog is most comfortable. Sessions are $95 for a 60-90 minute, first intro session. Follow up sessions are 45-60 minutes and are $85 for each follow up. For every third visit, there will be a $10 discount. Preliminary questions are given prior to first visit to focus on what behaviors are desired. Pay as you go! No obligations as to how many sessions you want/need. *Additional fuel charge for appointments over 45 miles from the farm.

ABOUT US

Hi, I'm Amanda and this is me with my best friend and farm hand, Rio. I'm the owner of Good Shepherd Farm. While Rio is no longer with us, the name and logo of the farm will always be a remembrance of him and his wonderful life he lived here for almost 8 years. While I didn't grow up on a farm, I have always been an animal lover. My love of animals has driven me to be a zoo keeper and animal trainer by trade and also an advocate for eating and raising natural and responsible meat products.
Raising livestock in a natural manner is priority to me and I strive for all animals raised here to only have "one bad day". I personally believe that we owe these animals their best days on earth, outdoors as nature intended, as they sacrifice their lives for our nutrition. In addition, the environment and local ecosystems are equally as important to me, so all aspects of the farm are managed with regenerative agriculture in mind.
Having trained all sorts of animals from elephants to tigers in zoos and dogs and cats for movies and television, I use my 15 years of training experience with all farm animals as much as possible. Training animals, from dogs and cats to chickens and pigs, allows routines for all animals to be as stress free as possible.
Rio unfortunately is no longer with us but everything on the farm is done in his honor. This farm is my true passion in life and I appreciate the journey of living and learning and hopefully doing some good along the way.
